Hi all,

I'm Liz Irvine, rep for University of Edinburgh, doing a very late introduction....I'm mainly interested in philosophy of mind and cognitive science, including some work on signal detection theory, unconscious perception and consciousness generally. I've just started my PhD here with Andy Clark, before that I did a masters at Pittsburgh in the HPS department. If anyone else is working on SDT type measures of consciousness it'd be great to hear from you!

I'd like to introduce myself to everyone. I'm the BPPA representative for the University of Brighton, where I'm currently doing my PhD.

My thesis broadly consists of a sceptical take on the 'Problem of Akrasia', an exploration of the 'Value of Knowledge' in the Socratic philosophy of action, and consequently a re-evaluation of the 'Socratic Paradox'.

My Philosophical interests are in the areas of Epistemology, Meta-Ethics, Rationality, and Philosophy of Action.
