The British Postgraduate Philosophy Association (BPPA) is currently recruiting for outgoing and adventurous postgraduates who put the fun into philosophy! We’re looking for two new volunteers to join our committee as:

1) Events Co-ordinator
2) Fundraising and Advertising Co-ordinator

Our new people will join the existing committee, comprising President, Vice-President (or, this year, two co-presidents!), Treasurer, Secretary, Webmaster and Committee Advisor.

The BPPA is a voluntary organisation run by and for postgraduate philosophy students. Our primary aims are to bring philosophy postgrads together into a national community, and to organise events for those wending their way through the murky depths of a philosophy masters or PhD. We are chiefly known for our annual conference (the BPPC) and our twice-yearly Philosophy Masterclasses.

The role of the Events Co-ordinator will be to maintain regular contact between the BPPA Committee and our external events’ teams who organise our conference and masterclasses. The role of the Fundraising and Advertising Co-ordinator will be to seek out sources of funding and find appropriate ways to promote the BPPA. Applicants should note, in addition, that the BPPA itself is an ongoing, evolving project, and we are very keen that our committee members should seek out new opportunities that might take our organisation in new directions.

We are keen to hear from enthusiastic postgraduates who share the BPPA’s view that philosophy should be fun as well as serious. Please apply by sending a covering email, including details of any relevant experience, to Joachim and Ines (co-presidents):
